Austin John Straten

1994 - 2019

On Saturday July 6, 2019, Austin John Straten, loving son, brother and friend to all, passed away at the young age of 24. Austin left us suddenly to live eternal life with our Lord, while spending the weekend with his brothers and friends doing what he loved most, connecting with nature. Austin was born on July 29, 1994, in Denver, CO to Lisa Walker-Straten and Scott Straten. He graduated from Ponderosa High School and then went to pursue his passion 4 the arts, becoming a cook and most recently, a carpenter.

Austin had a natural eye for beauty and was a very gifted artist. His talents translated over to his work as a carpenter. He combined his two favorite passions, carpentry and sketching, to create and build extraordinary decks in addition to remodeling homes. Wherever he went and whatever he touched, he poured his heart into it. Austin was a music lover and musician as well as a talented skateboarder and snowboarder. He was also an avid outdoorsman, spending much of his downtime camping and kayaking with his loved ones. He was known 4 his infectious smile, his sense of humor, kind spirit and huge loving heart.

Austin was preceded in death by his grandfather John Saliwonczyk, nephew Ryan Walker, Jr. He is survived by his mama Lisa, father Scott, four brothers Ryan, Royce, Tyler and Brett, sister Nicole, maternal grandmother Sophia Saliwonczyk, paternal grandparents Steve Straten and Beth Johnson, friends Grayson Ostdahl, Bryce Ritchie, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
