Deanne Wissner Hoaglund passed away on Thursday, October 11 after a wonderful, fulfilling, and fun-filled life. Deanne was born in Pittsburgh, and graduated from Miami University as a psychology major. She was president of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. Dee was married to Robert William Hoaglund in 1960. They lived in the suburbs of New Jersey and settled in Lake Forest, Illinois where they raised four children, Rob, Roger, Cindy and Cristie. In 2003, Dee moved to Evergreen, Colorado.
Dee had a life-long interest in contract bridge, travel, reading, and gardening. She created beautiful flower gardens everywhere she lived and was a member of the Evergreen Moonlight Garden Club, sharing her enthusiasm with the community. She was an accomplished bridge player, participating in many tournaments and accumulating master points. Dee loved the outdoors and enjoyed the lakes of the upper Midwest and the mountains of Colorado. She also traveled extensively throughout the world, from Alaska to Antarctica and many points in between. Dee was also an avid reader and book club enthusiast. Her life was enriched by many friends.
Dee loved and nurtured her children and grandchildren. She touched their lives with her positive outlook, sense of humor and enthusiastic demeanor. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of the family she leaves behind: Rob and Bess Hoaglund and daughter Deanne; Roger and Betsy Hoaglund; Cindy Hoaglund; Cristie and Jason Kutz and daughter Sophia.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that expressions of sympathy be made via donations in memory of Deanne Hoaglund at either Susan G. Komen (ww5.komen.org) or Evergreen Moonlight Garden Club (http://coloradogardenclubs.org).
