Rest in peace Eddie. Even though it hasn’t been since the ’70s since we last seen and talked, I always thought you were a great guy, and you and Al were always fun to play with in our band. Godspeed Eddie.

At Song School and Folks Festival in Lyons years ago, our mutual friend Rob Roper introduced me to Eddie and Annie. We gravitated to each other and somehow became the “Bob family” We have had such great fun over the years. Oh Annie-Bob, how I wish Eddie-Bob was still with us! Your pain must be all-encompassing and so deep. You two were such a perfect pair, always together, always laughing and loving life. That life together was a gift I know that you will always cherish and never forget.

I’m sorry I can’t make it to the service today, but know that you are in my heart and I’m sending love to you and yours.

  13. Rob Roper says:

I met Eddie and Annie at the Rocky Mountain Song School and Folks Festival in Lyons, Colorado, many years ago. We took a liking to each other right away. I was just learning how to write songs at the time, as was Eddie. He already had a couple of good ones, and would write more and better ones in the years that followed. And he did great cover versions of Bruce Springsteen’s “Thunder Road” and Tom Waits’ “Invitation to the Blues.”

Hanging out with Eddie and Annie under the August skies in Lyons was always a pleasure. Eddie and I shared the same sense of humor, and I’ll always remember Eddie for his laugh.

I’m sad that Eddie had to go so soon. My sympathy goes out to Annie, Marta and Graham. But his spirit and songs will live on. And I can still hear his laugh.

Tom remembers his cousin Eddie. Eddie would often come to Wauconda (IL) with his brother and his dad (Uncle Carl). A good time was had by all. Memories as such warm the heart. It was a good Wesselhoff childhood. Many of the Wesselhoff cousins played together at the Leo and Dorthy Wesselhoff home and there are many memories of fishing on Bangs lake. This was long before I met my husband,Tom. I never knew Eddie, only through facebook. I would have loved to hear him play his guitar and sing.
