Robert J. Renz Jr. 68, of Casper, Wyo., passed away at his sister Rita’s home in Morrison, Colorado surrounded by family on Nov. 11, 2018.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Casper with burial at the Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery in Evansville, Wyo.
Bob graduated from La Salle-Peru Township High School in 1967. Later that same year he enlisted with the U.S. Marine Corps where he served as a sergeant in Vietnam. Later in his life, while living in Casper he became involved with Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing who are dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of injured and disabled military service personnel and disabled veterans through fly fishing and other activities including education and outings. Being able to help other veterans was something Bob was very proud of.
Survivors include his son, Craig of Denver; two granddaughters, Anabel and Celia; one brother, Ron (Peggy) Renz of Utica; three sisters, Mary Ellen of Denver, Rita (Russ) Staples of Morrison, Colo., and Linda (Steve) Wroczynski of La Salle; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Irene Renz.
