On the morning of October 16th 2023, Carl Schranz IV, passed away at the age of 87 in Arvada, Colorado. Carl was born to Carl and Ethel Schranz on December 18th, 1935 in Denver, CO. He had an older sister Carolynn and younger sister Judith.
Carl attended North High School in Denver and graduated with the class of 1954. North High School is where he met his future wife, Diane Schranz.
Carl and Diane were married on September 16th, 1956. They had 2 sons, Donald Carl and Kenneth Lee.
He started Creative Illumination Inc., a fluorescent lighting business, in 1961. He was the owner and president until the business closed in 2018.
Carl was known for his love of antique trucks and cars. He also loved woodworking and carpentry; he could often be found creating detailed pieces in his woodshop or welding. Some of his other passions included travel, nature, and music. Spending time with his family and friends was very important to him.
Carl is preceded in death by Carl and Ethel Schranz (parents), Carolynn Byerly (sister), and Constance Schranz (daughter-in-law) along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is survived by Diane Schranz (wife), Don and Ken Schranz (sons) and Judith (sister). He is also survived by his grandchildren Darcy (Daniel) Vooijs, Gail (Jeffery Curtis) Poor, and Neal (Naomi) Schranz and great-grandchildren Emma, Ethan, Jett, Claire, Brooklynn, and Baby Boy Poor.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, October 30th, 2023 at Evergreen Memorial Park. The address is 26624 N. Turkey Creek Road Evergreen, CO 80439. A private family burial will be at 3:00 pm and a public service will be held at 4:00 pm followed by a reception.
