David Jonathan Elstun

David Jonathan Elstun, also known as Amazing Dave, passed away on November 28, 2023, at the age of 70 in Littleton, Colorado. Born on November 3, 1953, in Cincinnati, Ohio, David was a beloved magician and entertainer who delighted audiences of all ages for over 50 years.  In the 1980s, David was the house magician at the original Casa Bonita restaurant and the owner of Zeezo's magic shop in Aurora. He was widely recognized for his magical performances as Mr. Money at the Lodge Casino in Blackhawk, Colorado. Additionally, David showcased his comedic talent at the popular Lumber-baron comedy dinner theater alongside Walter Keller. His laughter was contagious, and he had a remarkable ability to bring joy to everyone he encountered.  David is survived by his loving performer family, including his wife Miss Connie, who was a past children's magician in Colorado. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Julie, and David Payne, who are well-loved stage actors, and his mother, Gypsy Elstun, a frequently seen actress famous for her commercial work, especially the Colorado lottery Christmas Commercial. David cherished his sons, Harrison Elstun, an aspiring brewer from Littleton, and Daryl Kalina, a United States Postal Clerk from Morrison. He also had a close bond with his extended family, Tony, and Eileen Nalepa. His beloved pets, Copernicus the dog, and Minerva and Tucker the cats, were also a source of joy in his life.

David was preceded in death by his Father John Elstun a top 40, 1950’s disk jockey known as “Jim Dandy”.  Amazing Dave inherited his remarkable speaking voice from his dad.  David's career was centered around his passion for magic. He was the professional magician and owner of Zeezo's Magic Store and Elstun Magic Productions INC. Throughout his life, he entertained countless people and left a lasting impact on the magic community.  As a member he served the Mile High Magicians Society proudly.

As a devoted Christian, David found solace in his faith.  In his free time, David was an avid mountaineer and adventurer in Colorado. He loved exploring the beautiful landscapes and challenging himself with outdoor activities. 

A celebration of David's life will take place on Tuesday, December 5th, 2023, at noon. The service will be held at the Mountain High Christian Center, located at 8444 US HWY 285, Morrison, Colorado 80465, and will be headed by Pastor Ed Shirley. Following the service, a wonderful Mexican food lunch will be provided at the same location.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks for your appreciated help by donating to their Go Fund Me link or donate through Venmo.  Evergreen Memorial Park in Evergreen, Colorado, is assisting with the arrangements for David's passing.  Amazing Dave, will be remembered for his magical talents, infectious laughter, and love for his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
