With heavy hearts, we share that Donald Richard Wilder , 66, passed unexpectedly in his home on October 4, 2021. Don, a resident of Littleton, CO, was born in Guadalupe, AZ, on May 4, 1955. His family settled in Colorado, where he attended school and graduated from Alameda High School.
Don epitomized Colorado: he drove Subarus, had many dogs, climbed 14ers, skied and hiked every weekend. Don was happiest outdoors, loved listening to music, playing softball and wallyball, and tending to his beloved plants. He always took the scenic route whenever possible, loved wildlife, and waterfalls. Don was kind, gentle and chill; he was able to calm souls by proximity.
The void Don leaves as a husband, father, papa, brother, uncle, and friend to many cannot be measured or filled. Don is survived by his wife Robin; daughter Dani Griffith and husband Justin; daughter Melissa Wilder Granado; daughter Kelli Zera and husband Jeff; grandchildren Austin Zera, Aiden Hemmert- Wilder , Demetrius “DJ” Granado, and Rylee Zera; sister Linda; brother Dave; brother Rick; and many beloved brothers and sisters-in-law, cousins, nephews, nieces, and the very best of friends. Don was predeceased by his father Richard, and mother Bernice. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him so much.
A celebration of Don’s life and adventures will be held in the summer of 2022. To join our photo sharing group, please send an email to DaniWilderGriffith@gmail.com .
