The Earth lost a beautiful soul when Joshua Edward Wright, 51, unexpectedly passed away on December 3, 2023

Joshua was born in Hoffman Estates, Il and raised in Chillicothe, Ohio and Schaumburg, Il, His love of the outdoors and the mountains brought him to the Denver area in 1999 where he lived until his passing.  Joshua graduated from Illinois State University and pursued a career in financial planning, that evidentially led him to a career in the cyber security field.

Joshua loved with an open heart and had a contagious grin that could coax a smile from a stone. He loved his friends and family unconditionally and was so proud of all his nieces and nephews and the lives they were learning to live. Joshua’s love for his mother truly spoke to whom he was as a person as it was deep and unshakable, they truly had a precious and unique bond, never to be broken. He so loved music, especially live in concert, photography and considered himself a pretty great cook, even if he had his way of straying off recipes. He loved Chicago sports team, mainly the Chicago Bears and Cubs (was so happy he got to see a World Series winner, finally), was a big Notre Dame football fan, and adopted the Denver Broncos as his second favorite when he landed in Denver. He loved to travel, visiting many different places, including national parks, numerous US cities and even over to England which he had many stories. He truly loved the mountains where he loved to ski, hike and camp. He also found a passion for fishing where he spent time in Mexico, and few other areas in Colorado learning to fly fish with one of his true mentors in life, Currie Harbour. He truly was at home outside.

Joshua is survived by his brother, W.T. Wright and his wife Regina, brother Jason Wright, sister Christy Smolinski and her husband Steve Smolinski, his wife Lisa Gerrick and her children Stephan and Alyssa Gerric, his nephews, Aiden, Caleb, Josh and Brady Wright, Niko Smolinski, and his nieces, Ariana Wright, Alex Wright, and Shannon Smolinski. Joshua was preceded in death by his mother Sharon Wright and his father George Wright.
