Judith Marie Davison Fox passed peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, September 08, 2024 in the loving embrace of her son and his family at his residence in Conifer, CO, after a long bout with cancer. She was a lifelong member of the Baha’i Faith.
She was born June 02, 1944 in Urbana, OH. She was the daughter of Richard and Sarah Davison of Urbana, OH who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughter Erika Fox with her husband Christoph Weber of Laudenbach, Germany and her son Kevin Fox with his wife Somying Fox of Conifer, CO.
Also, by grandchildren Tera Fox Nordstrom of Grand Chain, IL, Liam and Ryan Weber of Laudenbach, Germany, and Alex, Victor, and Max Fox of Conifer, CO.
In addition, by sister Juliet “Pidge” Balmer of Urbana, OH, her cousins Diana Ripley, Vicki Halburnt, Crystal Stahl and Penny Trusty.
And many dear friends.
Judy was a friendly, family oriented, well-educated woman of Faith. She loved experiencing new things. She loved travelling. Through the many different places around in the world and the experience of numerous types of cultures, she was able to develop an open mind about a variety of thoughts, ideals and philosophies of others.
She was able to almost immediately create a positive bond with anyone she encountered, often leading to lengthy conversations she genuinely enjoyed. She loved learning a new perspective on life, which she shared with friends and family, leaving them with more to ponder and to grow from her words. She hoped to make them better people with a possible new way of thinking.
She was also a very good listener. Whether it be a stranger or someone close, she took every word sincerely and treated them with respect. Judy kept an open mind and gave out great suggestions as to what might help in whatever situation that was occurring. She had a very creative and perceptive mind, but even more so it was a practical mind, and the vast majority of the things she said were very helpful. Her often wise advise offered a realistic standpoint presented with options.
Judy had a decades-long career at Xerox as a software programmer for the complex printers that kept corporations running smoothly. She was highly valued for her problem-solving skills, flexiblity and ability to "think outside of the box".
After she retired from Xerox, Judy loved sitting outside sipping Darjeeling tea, munching peeled mandarins, travelling and working on her embroidery. She made the most amazing pieces of art that took her full concentration. Some pieces she gifted to family and friends, who have them hanging with pride in their homes.
She was able to spend significant time with all of her grandchildren (on both continents), which she loved doing. It gave her great joy. She also was able to devote significant time to Baha’i activities and left lasting loving impressions wherever she went.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
