Kerry L. Smith

Kerry L. Smith of Evergreen CO passed away suddenly at home, on January 26, 2023 at the age of 73.  Kerry was born in San Antonio, TX on February 25^th 1949 to Mildred and Allen Smith. 

He married Lois (Everard) Smith on February 11, 1978. He is survived by his wife Lois, daughter Tracy Dendel (Chris Dendel), his son Sean Smith, In laws; Richard Everard, Vivian Derenne, Eileen Mach, Dan Berg, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He graduated from John Marshall High School in San Antonio, TX in 1967 then received his Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering from Metropolitan State University of Denver. Following that he started a long career in the telecommunications industry in Denver then the AT&T world headquarters in Basking Ridge, New Jersey.  He then worked in Denver with US West, Qwest and Century Link.  Kerry was also a real estate broker in the Evergreen area for many years.

Kerry had many passions in his life including his love for the outdoors, photography, animals and anything with an engine.  In his adult years, he was a river-rafting guide, skier and amateur racecar driver.  He was active in the Evergreen community for over 40 years with the Kiwanis and Elks clubs. 

In retirement, he enjoyed his Evergreen home, socializing with friends and neighbors, walking his dog Sully, tinkering in the garage, and taking care of his plants.     

Throughout his life Kerry was a loving father, and husband.

A celebration of life will be held at the Evergreen Elks Lodge, 27972 Iris Drive, Evergreen, CO 80439 on March 18^th at 1pm.
