Leroy Edmund Kohagen

March 14, 1942 — November 2, 2024

Baliey, Colorado

Leroy Edmund Kohagen, 82, passed away Saturday, November 2, 2024 at his home in Bailey, CO.

He was born March 14, 1942, in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Edmund and Eleanor (Beeman) Kohagen.

Leroy worked as a Ramp Agent for Ozark Airlines. On June 1, 1963, he married Barbara Adams. Leroy loved the outdoors and the Colorado mountains. He moved to Colorado from Iowa with his wife shortly after they were married. He loved spending time with family and his dog, Champ. His grandchildren were his pride and joy.

Leroy was an adamant card player. He loved to play cards with friends and joined many groups. Cribbage was his favorite.

He collected cribbage boards and gnomes.

Other past times he enjoyed were watching sports. He loved the Denver Broncos and the Colorado Rockies.

Whenever the Broncos played, he would call or text his sons to comment on the game. He loved sitting on his patio taking pictures of widlife, reading a good book, or napping in his hammock. In his younger days you could always find him woodworking. Anyone who knew Leroy, knew he had a fun, loving personality and would joke and tease. But he was, also, always there to help family and friends.

Remaining to cherish his memory are children, Troy (Darci) Kohagen, Darren (Dawn) Kohagen; grandchildren Chad Kohagen, Danielle Massey, Dillon Kohagen, Savannah Kohagen, Shealeigh Stout, Taylor Martinez, Jacob Miller Jr., Jaci Miller, Dylan Hansen; great-

grandchildren, Gabriella Stout, Ayla Breen, Weston Breen. He is survived by two sisters, Kolleen Forsman and Elaine Matthais.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edmund and Eleanor Kohagen and his wife, Barbara Kohagen.

In accordance with family wishes, cremation will be conducted; an informal memorial is planned and to be announced.
