Lonna "Jody" Jo Braley

Lonna Jo (Jody) Braley went to be with the Lord on November 26, 2023 at home in Arvada, Colorado.

Born in Stevensville, Michigan on April 25, 1951, Jody graduated from the Christian Academy in Japan in 1970 and subsequently from Colorado Christian University with a B.S. in Human Resource Management in 2004.

She accompanied her parents, Leo and Beatrice Klemm, to Japan in 1966 where they served as missionaries.

She married Reverend Michael Nelson in 1972, who proceeded her in death in 1999. Her son Jonathan also proceeded her in death in 2018.

She married Dr. Randy A. Braley in 2007. She is survived by her husband Randy, her sons David and Brandon Nelson, a sister, Alida Willis, a brother, Rocky Klemm, and four grandchildren, Peyton, Cameron, Bailey and Bradley.

Jody served with her husband Mike Nelson in ministry in Fayetteville, Arkansas; Hendersonville and Nashville, Tennessee; and Estes Park and Aspen, Colorado.

She has more recently served as a human resource manager and consultant and an insurance broker in the Denver area. She was a member of Family in Christ Community Church.

She participated in ladies Bible studies, enjoyed hiking, bike riding, gardening and her dog Boo. She was a faithful correspondent with missionaries and friends both here and abroad and she loved spending time with family and friends.

Jody was an exceptional women who had a profound influence on those who knew her. She will remain in our hearts forever.

A memorial service will be held at 10 A.M. on Friday, December 8 at Family in Christ Community Church (11355 Sheridan Blvd., Westminster, CO 80020).
