Michael Keaton, a native Well Driller in the Denver and mountain area, died on December 13, 2024 at the age of 72 in Arvada, Co.
Michael was born in Dickinson, NC on July 30, 1952 to James Keaton and Ruthann Keaton (Farris). On October 3, 1973, he would welcome a daughter Amber Jiles (Keaton) and on September 22, 1974, he would welcome a son Jordan Keaton. He loved his children dearly.
Michael was devoted to his career running a family owned water well drilling business. He had an upstanding reputation and everyone you talked to said “everyone likes Mike” for he made it possible for families to have water to their mountain homes. He was fair, honest and straight forward always with an engaging smile. He worked in the foothills by Denver, CO and the mountains around that area and did deep core drilling for oil companies in other states. He mastered decisions of a unique business with good intuition and rolling with the economy and carrying the business into the third generation. He was a talented man in his field, consulted with other drillers and would always help others when he knew of a need. He belonged to the Water Well Drilling Association and offered his opinions and insights at the conferences. He was an entrepreneur and a solid thoughtful businessman from his early childhood days on the rig sites all through his life-even in old age he would ask his son “where ae the boys(the crew) today?” His life was an accomplishment and all who knew him understood his dedication to making a respectful and successful business. It was all about the “water”- a life force he knew well.
His parents James Keaton and Ruthann Keaton (Farris) precede him in death.
He is survived by his children, Jordan and Victoria Keaton and several grandchildren; Amber and George Jiles and two grandchildren; one sister Karen Newton and late Lonnie Newton and nieces and nephew; one brother Steve and Chris Keaton and two nieces. In addition, serval other loved family members and friends.
The family will announce funeral arrangements at a later time.
