Paul Arthur Shick, 38, lost his long fight with cancer on June 27, 2023 and heaven gained an amazing soul. Paul was born July 31, 1984, the son of Gary A. and Susan P. (Johnson) Shick in St. Marys, Pennsylvania. He attended Ridgway schools and lived in Lake City, Elk County, Pennsylvania. He attended high school in Longmont and Johnstown, Colorado.
Paul started work at Loveland Ski Resort high in the Rocky Mountains shortly after graduation and has worked there for many years. Paul had a passion for all outdoor activities: snowboarding, rock climbing, camping, and martial arts were his favorites. Paul was a friend to everyone and loved helping others.
To know Paul was to know selfless love. Paul was the most kindhearted, accepting, service-oriented person ever. He always took care of others even until his last hours on this earth. He didn’t care about materialistic things or worldly trends. He cared about experiencing this world to the fullest. Paul loved his family and friends and made sure they knew it. He was always ‘the favorite uncle’.
Paul was pre-deceased by his father, Gary A. Shick.
Paul is survived by his mother, Susan; brother, Andrew (Gaylari); and sisters, Tammy (Dee) Olsen, Heather (Jay) Buckles, Michelle (Clay) Lines, Tiffany (David) Walpole, Julie (David) Hill; 24 nieces and nephews and three great nephews, as well as his sweet dog, Sheila, who was his faithful companion.
Memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family.
