Penelope Eileen Bryan

Penelope Eileen Bryan, a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, unexpectedly passed on December 1st, 2024, after a fall that resulted in a head injury. She leaves behind a legacy of love and wisdom. Born with a passion for justice and education, Penelope graduated with a law degree from the University of Florida-Gainesville. Her career began in family law, where she made significant contributions before transitioning to academia as a law professor at Denver University. Her dedication to education and her expertise in family law was widely recognized, culminating in her esteemed appointment as the Dean of Whittier Law School in California.

Penelope was a prolific writer, publishing numerous articles and a book exploring the legal system's impact on modern families. Her work as a sociologist and leader in family law earned her respect and admiration from colleagues and students alike.

Beyond her professional achievements, Penelope was a vibrant individual who loved the outdoors. She celebrated her 70th birthday by completing a 14er hike in Colorado, a testament to her adventurous spirit. Her love for sports was well-known, and she often enjoyed it with a bowl of popcorn and a glass of chardonnay.

Penelope's family was the center of her world. She is survived by her sister Nancy Johnson, her four children: Benjamin Saxon (Heather Saxon), Candice Saxon, Hillary Nack (Aaron Nack), and Matthew Ingber (Angel Ingber). Her legacy continues through her eleven grandchildren: Michael Walters (Autum Walters), Connor Reed, Jacob Reed, Bentli Saxon, Victoria Saxon, Lachlan Nack, Caden Nack, Dalton Nack, Gabriel Ingber, Layla Ingber and Lainey Ingber as well as her great-grandchild, Hailey Walters. She was predeceased by her beloved granddaughter, Brighton Saxon.

Penelope's wisdom, warmth, intelligence and unwavering support will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her family, friends, and former students will forever cherish the memories and lessons she imparted.
