Penelope Jane Dooley

Penelope Jane Dooley is now in the hands of Our Lord.

It is with heartfelt sorrow to let family and friends know that our mother, Penny

Dooley passed away on Thursday, February 13th, 2025 at the age of 87 in

Denver, Colorado.

Penny’s early years, life began in East Aurora, New York, raising 7 girls with her

husband John. Focusing on being together as a family. Weekends, holidays

and holy gatherings were filled with relatives, friends, children and good times!

Mom was always there to hold our hands and wipe our tears.

A new adventure began for us all after the winter blizzard of 1977.

Penny and John packed up the girls and drove the station wagon to the

Rocky Mountains of Colorado, to the town of Evergreen, where they now called

home. The beauty of the outdoors, her love for the mountains and the forever

sunshine taught us to enjoy life and all the flowers along the way.

After John’s death in 1992, Penny always said her sole purpose in life was to

protect and be there for her girls.

Penny Dooley was preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas Dooley III,

and special friend, Terry McClard. Survived by her daughters, Lynn (Bill), Susan,

Carol (David), Shannon (Benjamin), Mary (John), Colleen, Christine (Greg) and

her brother Theodore Holmes. She was lovingly called Gram and Tutu by her 18

grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.

Penny entered into the paradise of eternal life to be with John and the Angels.

So when you find a penny, pick it up, she will always be with you.
