Raleigh Kern, of Fairplay, CO, passed away October 10, 2023, at the age of 36. Raleigh was born in Fresno, CA and raised in Broomfield, CO. Her love of animals was evident from an early age, and she graduated from LSU where she received a BS in Animal Sciences. She loved Louisiana (and the Saints) and lived in Baton Rouge and New Orleans until moving back to Colorado in 2015.
Raleigh was our Colorado wildflower and will always be known for her contagious smile, easy laughter, and free spirit. She loved an adventure and delighted in the wildlife that she experienced while living in the mountains. Raleigh was genuine to her core, and she will always be remembered for her ability to touch the heart of others, both two legged and four.
She is survived by her father, Daniel Kern; mother, Patti McHardy Kern; brother, Taylor Kern, his wife Nicole and their children Shepard and Lennon Kern; sister, Sydney Kern, her fiancée Austin McCormick; half sister Mauri Helffrich, grandmother, Sarah McHardy, Godparents Charlotte Petit and Skip McHardy, and many more aunts, uncles, cousins and their children. She is preceded in death by her grandparents Harry Kern, Audrey LaBiche Kern, and Dr. Robert McHardy.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Intermountain Humane Society, https://www.imhs.org/waystohelp or the Good Foundation/ Global Thrift, https://global-thriftinmemory.square.site/product/donation-in-honor-of-raleigh/124
