Robert (Bob) Paul Hockenberry, 68, passed away peacefully in his home in Pine, CO on November 4, 2023, with his wife by his side, along with Mount Evans Hospice.

He was born December 1, 1954, to Arthur Paul Gladys Jane (Peternel) Hockenberry.  In his early childhood, his family moved to Swift Lake near East Troy Wisconsin.  Bob spent his childhood fishing, hiking, and camping with the Boy Scouts.  He attended Marquette University and received his degree in electrical engineering.  After graduating, his employment took him to IBM in Poughkeepsie, NY, then to Rochester, MN, eventually moving to Pine, Colorado in 1997 and enjoyed the mountains which he loved so much. 

Bob was quite a joke teller and had a great sense of humor.  Music and woodworking were his passion.  He played and awesome guitar (electric and acoustic guitar and piano.  Bob had a recording studio in the early 2000’s.  His woodworking included many projects such as a barn to replicate for his wife who grew up on a dairy farm in Wisconsin.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Paul Hockenberry and Gladys Jane (Peternel) Hockenberry.  He is survived by JoAnn Evelyn (Kneip) Hockenberry, his loving wife of 46 years.  They were married on June 3, 1977 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in East Troy, Wisconsin.  He is further survived by Nancy (Robert) Verderber, sister, Pinellas Park< Florida, Andrew (Margaret) Peternel, uncle, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, cousins, Mark (Dianne) Peternel, Beth Bellante, Kevin (Lisa) Peternel, Dan (Jodi) Peternel, Mike (Julie) Wells, Doug (Denise) Whittacker, and Scott (Eileen) Campbell, also many nieces and nephews to cherish his memories.

A private burial and Celebration of life service will be held in the spring at St. Peter’s Cemetery and in East Troy, Wisconsin.
