Colonel (US Army, Retired) Terry Wayne Beynon, born in Watertown SD on 27 March 1959, passed away peacefully on 10 Dec 2024 in his loving wife's arms at their home in Conifer, Co, culminating his battle with brain cancer.
Following a memory-filled childhood in Watertown that included hunting, fishing, debate and wrestling, Terry completed his senior year of High School in Hill City, Ks. He entered the military through Kansas State University's ROTC program. On June 4 1983, Terry married the love of his life, Lisa Marie Ensz. Terry and Lisa were married for 41 years and became the loving, devoted and proud parents of Michael Foster Beynon on December 30, 1986 and Traci Nicole Beynon on 23 January 1988. Together, they served our nation for over 28 years. A career Ordinance Officer and commander, Terry was a highly respected officer and beloved leader.
Terry retired from the US Army as a Colonel in 2008. Following a brief time as a "beltway bandit," Terry's heart called him back to government service as a civilian where he served in the Pentagon until 2015. Terry and Lisa retired to Conifer Colorado in 2015, where he indulged his passions for hunting, enjoying the outdoors, gunsmithing, and spending quality time with family and friends, often with his favorite bourbon and cigars. A man of strong faith, you would be hard pressed to find a better husband, more loving father, or a truer friend than Terry. He always had a smile and a story to share with friends and strangers alike.
