George Washington Armstrong Jr.

April 12, 1960 - November 11, 2017

George Washington Armstrong Jr., passed away unexpectedly on November 11, 2017 at the age of 57 while traveling home from a weeklong hunting trip with friends.

George was born in Casper, WY on April 12, 1960 and graduated from Sidney High School in 1978. On June 3, 1990, he married Debbie, a hairdresser from Scottsbluff, NE. He was a hard working man who was always willing to help a colleague or pick up an extra shift. George worked at a number of places over the years, including the Farm Bureau in Kimball; Nash Finch, Yellow Freight, Consolidated Freight, NW Transport Freightliner, United Airlines, and Roadway, all in Denver.

The great outdoors were George’s home. He was an all-around outdoorsman, an avid hunter, fisher, and boater. When not in the Rocky Mountains, George loved spending time on the beaches of Hawaii and Mexico. He was also a sports fan who loved watching the Broncos, Rockies, and NASCAR.

George will be dearly missed by his wife, Debbie Armstrong; his children Kristin Hotopp, Lindsey Chavez, Kelly Steinbrecher, Jeffrey Armstrong, Jennifer Damers; and 10 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, George Washington Armstrong Sr, mother, Katheryn Virginia Bates-Armstrong, and son David Michael Armstrong.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of George Washington Armstrong may be made to The Make-A-Wish Foundation, or to the Armstrong Family directly at Ronald McDonald House, c/o Debbie Armstrong, 932 N Potomac Circle, Aurora, CO  80011
