(303) 674-7750 Helping During a Time of Loss

Matthew J. Sachse

January 6, 1991 - January 14, 2018

Matthew left us too early when he passed away on January 14, 2018, following a terrible car accident.  Matthew was a poet, a national merit scholar, a search and rescue volunteer, and a certified first-responder.  Matthew was not only a wonderful son, but a loving brother to two younger siblings.  He was a caretaker for Alzheimer patients, a lover of both literature and medicine, a friend to all animals, and a hiking buddy.  He strove to not only better himself, but better the world in the process.

Matthew was an organ donor and, through his gifts, three lives were saved.  His compassionate spirit is smiling down at us and watching over us from heaven.

Matthew is survived by his parents, Jerry and Patti Sachse, his siblings, Kurt and Kristin Sachse, his grandmother Jeanne Hillyer (Gigi), his grandparents Jane and Vern Pall (Grandma and Grandpa Vern), and his loving German Shepherd and hiking buddy, Heidi.

Patti, I am so very sorry to hear of the loss of your son. He sounds like he was a wonderful young man, and what a blessing to know part of him lives on in the three lives he helped save through his organ donations. God Bless You and your family, you are all in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. <3

Patti and family, please accept my sincerest condolences. This is a terrible tragedy. Eventually the sadness and shock you are experiencing now will give way to happy memories which return gradually, one by one, and become more and more precious. In the meantime, be kind to yourselves and take all the time you need. You are in my heart and best thoughts. Suzy Harris

  4. Frank and Phyllis Bender says:

My dear Patti and Jerry, as I said to Patti in an e-mail, no words will do, and hard to come up with any. If I could take all that pain, I would. As Bill said, great parents lead to great children, and you did that, you raised a genuine man. May you survive this long cold winter of hurt, winters must always be followed by summers at some point. Hugs to you all, Kurt & Kristin too, and all your extended family. Condolences and prayers is all any of us can give, and we give them all.

  6. Karen & Matt says:

Patti and Jerry – Words could never convey our deepest sorrow for your loss. You will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers. Love, Karen & Matt

  7. Tony Mirenda says:

Prayers for Matthew, you and your entire family during this extremely difficult time, Patti. Matthew was quite the young man and accomplished so much at such an early age. May he be at peace and reach into your heart to ease your pain. For he is where we all strive to be; at one with our Lord.

  8. Bill Malcolm says:

The entire Sasche clan is in our hearts, thoughts and prayers. Matthew was an outstanding young man which is no surprise because he has two outstanding parents and is from an outstanding family. God bless all of you and God bless Matthew.

  9. V says:

Thinking of you all through this tragic loss of such a young handsome man and bright beautiful soul. My deepest sympathies and condolences to the family. Sending prayers and thoughts of healing, peace, comfort and love to you all. Love, V

  10. Dave and Kristin Gragnola says:

The thought of losing your child is the worst thing that can happen to a parent. God placed Matthew on this Earth for the time that he thought would make sense and now he is looking down from heaven while smiling on his family. As you deal with this tragedy, know that many will be praying for all of you and Matthew as will Kristin and I.

  11. Dennis Harrison says:
